Residents warn of suspicious vans breaking into homes and stealing dogs

Concern is growing among residents in the Armagh, Banbridge and Craigavon council area after a number of vans have been spotted acting suspiciously in recent days.

Hundreds of people are sharing social media posts with photos of the vehicles — one red and another white van — with Republic of Ireland registration plates.

It is being claimed that houses are being broken into and dogs stolen.

Residents in the Portadown and Craigavon areas were sharing ‘warnings’ on Facebook throughout the day yesterday (Saturday).

One Armagh resident contacted us this afternoon to say the vans in question are now roaming around the city.

Police have been contacted, however, there is no official line of inquiry.

There have also been reports of similar incidents as far north as Coleraine.
