Anger as family-run coffee shop broken into overnight

A family-run coffee shop in Craigavon was broken into overnight.

Kate’s Coffee Shop in the Tullygally area posted the news on their Facebook page, but were resolute in their determination to open a little in the morning.

“Due to a break in we will unfortunately be opening late this morning…we hope to open as soon as possible,” read the post.

Local SDLP representative Thomas Larkham has called for a more visible PSNI presence in the area.

“I’m sickened to learn of a local family run business in the heart of our community being broken into overnight,” he said.

“It’s hard enough to keep a business going without the added stress something like this brings.

“I hope the low lives responsible are caught and face the full force of the law.

“This local business like many others in Brownlow has the full support of the people and when you attack one of them you are attacking an entire community.

“I know Kate’s Place will be open today, bigger and stronger.”

He added: “I will be speaking with PSNI to ask for a more visible presence on the ground particularly in the Brownlow area.

“If anyone has any information relating to this incident please call PSNI on 101 immediately.”
