Almost 1,000 Covid-19 patients discharged from Craigavon Hospital as latest figures reveal five more dead

The Covid-19 death toll in Northern Ireland has risen to 454 following the deaths of five more people.

The latest daily figures from the Department of Health show that three of those deaths occurred in the last 24 hours, while two had previously been unreported.

Currently, there are 127 Covid-19 in-patients at Craigavon Area Hospital with 993 having already been discharged – the highest number of hospital recoveries in Northern Ireland.

Daisy Hill is currently treating seven patients, with 707 people in hospital with the disease across the entirety of Northern Ireland.

In the ABC area, 464 people have tested positive, with 254 positive results in Newry, Mourne and Down.

Today’s figures also show there are 19 patients with suspected or confirmed cases of Covid-19 currently occupying ICU beds, with 36 ICU beds available.

Nisra will release their weekly figures on Friday morning.

As of 1 May, Nisra had recorded 516 Covid-19 related deaths here.

Those statistics cover all deaths where coronavirus has been recorded on the death certificate.
