Alcohol ban and curfew imposed as pair charged with affray freed on bail

They will face Crown Court proceedings later in the year

Craigavon Magistrates Court

A Craigavon duo are both to face Crown Court proceedings later this year for alleged offences of affray.

Christopher George Carragher, 32, and Joseph Thomas Carragher, 35, both of Parkmore, were charged with affray at Craigavon Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday.

During the preliminary enquiry, it was heard that the alleged offences occurred on October 6, last year.

Standing in the dock, both defendants confirmed they understood the charge which they faced.

Prosecution stated that based on the papers before the court it was found that there was a prima facie case to answer.

Defence solicitor Siun Downey, who represented both men, made no contrary submissions.

They were released on their own bail of £500 to appear before Craigavon Crown Court on October 3.

District Judge Bernie Kelly attached conditions to this including a complete ban on alcohol along with a curfew between 8pm and 6am.
