Craigavon Magistrates Court

A 69-year-old who is accused of possession of cannabis with intent to supply will face Crown Court proceedings in the New Year.

Dat Chung Duong, of Stevenson Park in Lurgan, appeared charged with possession of Class B and possession of Class B with intent to supply at Craigavon Magistrates’ on Friday.

As the charges were read, it was heard that the offences are alleged to have occurred on January 23, of this year, with both relating to suspected cannabis.

Appearing in the body of the court, the defendant made no objection to the holding of a preliminary enquiry.

Prosecution submitted that based on the papers before the court there was a prima facie case to answer.

Defence counsel made no contrary submissions.

District Judge Amanda Brady, satisfied there was a prima facie case to answer, released Duong on his own bail of £200 to appear before Craigavon Crown Court on January 29 for arraignment.
