This was the scene of destruction after an overnight attack on the Fr Pat Cassidy Grotto in Keady.
Local SDLP Councillor Thomas O’Hanlon branded the attack “absolutely disgusting”.
He said he had received quite a few telephone calls from local people after the damage was caused.
Cllr O’Hanlon said: “This is a disgusting and cowardly attack and, when I went up to see the grotto for myself, I met one elderly lady in tears.
“Whoever was responsible for this should hang their heads in shame.
“This grotto is a sacred place and it’s very much loved by many in the community – shame on you!”
