Young boy knocked off bike by hit and run driver in south Armagh

Cashel Close Camlough

A young boy was knocked off his bicycle by a hit and run driver in south Armagh in Monday evening.

Police are appealing for eye-witnesses to come forward following the incident on the Newtown Road in Camlough, just outside Cashel Close around 7pm last night.

They are particularly keen to speak to the female driver who was possibly driving a brown Rav-4.

A PSNI spokesperson said: “A young male was knocked off his bike and thankfully did not sustain serious injuries.

“However the female driver who hit him has failed to stop. We believe she was driving a brown coloured Toyota jeep type vehicle, possibly a Rav-4.

“If you are the driver or you know who was please contact Police on 101 and quote reference 1975 of 15/06/20. Or if you were in the area at the time and happened to witness anything please get in touch.”
