
Police are hunting two men after an attack on a vulnerable adult in Bessbrook.
Officers have issued a public appeal for information, describing it as a “serious assault”.
It happened on Monday evening, at around 10.15pm.
Police in Newtownhamilton are investigating.
Constable Finucane explained: “The man was making his way home and was attacked close to the Cloughreagh Community Centre by two males who were driving a dark coloured VW Jetta.
“The man lost a tooth and required medical attention as a result of this.
“This was an attack on a vulnerable adult and we would like the public’s assistance to bring the perpetrators to justice.
“Anyone with information should contact 101 quoting reference 1605 28/05/18.
“Alternatively, information can also be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 which is 100% anonymous and gives people the power to speak up and stop crime.”
