Success on plate as Alex awarded President’s prize by Royal Ulster Agricultural Society

The Banbridge woman is an active member of the Catering, Cattle, Trade Exhibits and Kings Hall Exhibition and Conference Centre Committees and has stewarded at the Balmoral Show for over 20 years

A Banbridge woman has been awarded the prestigious President’s Place at the recent Royal Ulster Agricultural Society (RUAS) Annual Meeting

Awarded to Alex Woods, this special accolade acknowledges a Society member who has made a significant contribution to the RUAS over a period of years.

This year, Alex was the worthy recipient having been a member of the RUAS since 1994 and elected to Council in 2011.

She is an active member of the Catering, Cattle, Trade Exhibits and Kings Hall Exhibition and Conference Centre Committees and has stewarded at the Balmoral Show for over 20 years.

As valued and highly respected member of the Society, Alex represented the RUAS on several occasions as a ‘New Generation’ delegate at the Royal Agricultural Societies of the Commonwealth Conferences in Edinburgh, Singapore and Malaysia.

In 2018, she was also tasked with creating a photographic display to celebrate the 150th Anniversary of the Show and she had the honour of meeting Princess Anne and taking her on a personal tour.

Outside of the RUAS, Alex is the Assistant Secretary and Press and Publicity Secretary for Castlewellan Show.
