A Scarva man has appeared in court following the seizure of herbal cannabis with an estimated street value of £300,000 in Ballymena at the weekend.
Before Coleraine Magistrates Court today (Monday), was Christopher William Walker.
He faces three charges – possessing a Class B controlled drug, namely cannabis, possessing a Class B controlled drug with intent to supply, and being concerned in the supply of a Class B controlled drug.
The charges came after drugs were seized from a lorry in the Moorfields Road areea of Ballymena on Saturday morning.
The 25-year-old accused, of Gilford Road, Scarva, applied for bail but the application was refused.
He was remanded in custody to appear again at Ballymena Courthouse on June 2.
Meanwhile, a 35-year-old man, arrested in Armagh during a follow-up search of a house following the discovery in Ballymena, has since been released on bail pending further enquiries.
