Police trying to piece together final movements of vehicles after fatal collision on A1

Dash cam footage sought as investigation continues into A1 tragedy

Police are appealing for witnesses to a collision on the A1 yesterday which left one man dead and another fighting for his life.

Fifty-three-year-old Ian Cameron, from Dromara, died.

A second man is in a critical condition in the Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast.

Police are continuing with their investigations and are trying to piece together the final movements of the two vehicles involved and “get some answers for the families”.

A PSNI spokesperson said:”We believe the blue Ford Focus was heading north bound, and the green Mitsubishi pick up heading south bound.

“Were you on the A1 at around 12.30 yesterday afternoon? Did you see either vehicle before the crash, or indeed the crash itself? Do you have dash cam footage showing either vehicle in the lead up to the crash?

“If any of the above applies, and you haven’t yet spoken to us, please call 101. The incident number is 510 of 13/06/17.”
