Police plea to public not to take drugs after bag of Ecstasy tablets recovered

Drugs seized and two taken into custody after pills find

Police have made an impassioned plea to the public not to get involved in taking drugs after seizing a bag of Ecstasy tablets.

The Armagh, Banbridge and Craigavon District Crime team were conducting a search in Banbridge when the bag of pills (pictured) was recovdered.

Two people were arrested and enquiring are ongoing.

The PSNI asked everyone – and especially the young – not to be tempted to take this type of tablet.

Issuing a warning via social media, officers said: “Drugs are for mugs. The people who manufacture these pills do so without any regulation and not one thought for the health or safety of anyone taking them.

“These pills can be made using all manner of unpleasant ingredients not least rat poison and crushed glass.

“These pills can and do kill.

“Please think of yourself and your family before taking these things.

“If you have any concerns about drugs in your area call the police or Crimestoppers and we will deal with them.”
