Police investigating social media video appearing to show man being stabbed in head

Police are investigating social media video which appears to show a man getting stabbed in the back of the head by a woman in Banbridge last month.

The video – which has been viewed over three million times on one account alone – purports to show a man self-recording in the Brookfield Meadows area of the town on Saturday, February 11.

It shows the man and woman engaged in an expletive-ridden argument on the street before she appears to strike out at the man.

The man claims the woman has stabbed her in the back of the head.

He then puts his hand to the back of his head to confirm a significant and bloodied injury before turning the camera on the wounds. He continues to record the incident.

Police said no arrests have been made in relation to the incident but that they are investigating.

Anyone with any information of the incident should contact police in Lurgan on 101, quoting reference number 1576 11/02/23.
