Man rescued from River Bann in Banbridge

Air Ambulance

A man has been rescued from the River Bann in Banbridge this evening (Friday).

A large scale emergency operation involving police, fire and ambulance crews took place at around 6pm after reports of a man in the water.

The Air Ambulance was also despatched to the scene.

The incident took place behind Banbridge Leisure Centre.

It has been reported that the man was taken to hospital, however, his condition is unknown at this stage.

The leisure centre has remained open but parking at the centre is difficult given the amount of emergency vehicles in attendance.

There are no further details at this stage but this article will be updated as and when more information becomes available.
