Heartbreak as woman (56) dies from injuries eight days after three car crash on A1

It happened on the A1 near Loughbrickland and the woman, who was 56, passed away today

A woman has died after a three vehicle collision on the A1 near Loughbrickland eight days ago.

Jennifer Andrews, who was 56 and from the Belfast area, was taken to hospital for treatment to life-threatening injuries.

Sadly, she passed away in hospital today (Friday).

The collision, which involved a grey Seat Ibiza, a grey Volkswagen Golf and a black Volvo XC90, happened at approximately 5.35pm on Wednesday, December 13.

A full investigation into the circumstances surrounding the collision is ongoing.

Said a PSNI spokesperson: “Officers from the Police Service’s Collision Investigation Unit would appeal to anyone who was on the A1 at the relevant time and may have seen the vehicles involved, or who may have dash-cam footage available, to contact the Collision Investigation Unit at Sprucefield on 101, quoting reference number 1565 of 13/12/23.”
