Emergency services deal with two-vehicle collision at busy Scarva junction

Emergency services attended the scene of a two-vehicle road traffic collision on the Auglish Road in Scarva on Friday afternoon.

The Air Ambulance attended the scene of the collision which involved a van and a car.

The Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service (NIFRS) received the call at 3.02pm.

One fire appliance from Banbridge Fire Station was tasked to the incident.

A NIFRS spokesperson said: “Firefighters were called to reports of a collision involving a car and a van at the junction of Auglish Road and Mullaghglass Road.

“On arrival, all occupants of the vehicles were already out, and crews worked to make the scene safe. The incident was brought under control by 3.39pm.”

Police also attended and closed Auglish Road in both directions at Station Road, with diversions put in place for motorists.

There were no reports of any serious injuries.
