Chance burglars target pensioner’s home while she tends to the garden

An elderly woman’s home has been broken into while she was tending to her garden.

The incident happened this afternoon in the Ballymoney Hill area of Banbridge.

The chance burglars broke into the house while the woman was outside prompting police again to warn people to be vigilant and not to make themselves an easy target.

The PSNI want to hear from anyone who was in the Ballymoney Hill area between 1.15pm and 2.30pm today and noticed anything out of the ordinary or which seemed suspicious. They also want to hear if anyone noticed vehicles acting suspiciously.

Police also urge caution and advise: “Please be careful. We know a lot of you will be enjoying the sun in the garden please be vigilant and remember to lock your doors.”
