There has been a serious multi-car road traffic accident outside Banbridge this afternoon.
The Northern Ireland Air Ambulance have arrived at the scene on the Scarva Road.
There are unconfirmed reports of at least two cars being involved.
It is understood one woman is to be airlifted to hospital. It is unclear at this time how serious those injuries are.
Emergency services are also on the scene of the accident which happened around midday.
It happened close to the Ballyvarley crossroad junction.
The road will be closed for a period and motorists are advised to avoid the are completely.
A police spokesperson confirmed: “The Scarva Road in Banbridge has been closed between Banbridge and Scarva due to a road traffic collision.
“Diversions are in place and motorists are being asked to avoid the area.”
There are no further details at this stage.
