Emergency services were forced to deal with a car fire on the A1 near Banbridge this morning (Monday).
The car caught fire after the driver placed a blanket on the engine.
It transpired that after the owner put the blanket on the engine overnight due to the cold weather and had forgotten to remove it the next morning.
Police shared the image as a warning to other motorists.
A PSNI Road Policing officer said: “Road Policing officers responded to a report of a car on fire on the A1 this morning. The driver had placed a blanket on the engine overnight and forgotten to remove it.
“Thankfully nobody was hurt although the driver was more than a little embarrassed for the trouble caused! Please make sure your vehicle is safe to be driven before setting out on your journey!”
