Famed for its Friday night steak nights and just a stone's throw from Banbridge, the family-run business has been a mainstay in the local hospitality industry for many years

Bronte Steakhouse

One of the borough’s most famous and popular restaurants has gone on the market.

The Bronte Steak House And Grill, near Banbridge, is a long-standing family run business.

Famed for its Friday night steak nights, it has been a mainstay in the local hospitality industry for many years.

Now Belfast-based Osborne King has listed the restaurant for sale this afternoon (Tuesday).

No cost has been quoted with this to be made available to interested parties. In the meatime, the restaurant will operate as normal.

Any new buyer will be securing the restaurant and car park, as well as a two-storey outbuilding and adjacent agricultural lands.

According to the agent: “The detached single property comprises a fully fitted substantial licensed restaurant with ample restaurant accommodation and fitted kitchen. The property also includes another detached two storey building currently used for storage. Ample car parking is provided to the front and side of the restaurant.

“The licensed restaurant is fitted to a good traditional standard providing front bar, restaurant, rear lounge and fitted kitchen with ample ancillary areas.

“The sale also includes 2.7 acres of good agricultural lands with frontage on the Ballynafoy Road.”

The restaurant is located three miles from the A1 dual carriageway, which the agent pinpoints as linking Belfast to Newry and Dublin.

It is currently open four nights a week – Thursday through to Sunday – and also caters for small wedding receptions in its Reading Room. It will continue to operate on these hours.

According to the restaurant’s website, it is over 21 years since the Bronte Steakhouse & Grill was transformed from a bar into a restaurant and quickly established itself as the excellent family-owned and managed steak house it is today.

It is situated in the Bronte Homeland, with various memorabilia connected with the world-famous literary Bronte family on display which the public are welcome to peruse during their visit.

It is expected that there will be a great deal of interest in the property, which is described simply as a “well-established licensed restaurant”.
