Billboard advertisement grammar gaffe costs council £1,200

Promotional material had to be re-printed

A grammatical error on a billboard advertisement has cost Armagh, Banbridge and Craigavon Council an eye-watering £1,200.

This massive billboard in Banbridge – spotted by BBC NI journalist Iain McDowell – certainly is eye-catching.

School may be out but someone somewhere someone should be thinking about a bit of cramming during the summer months.

We may not have had Great Expectations but we certainly had Some Expectations.

So Dickens’ only knows how this slipped by!

Check out the name of the author…Charles who? Dicken’s? surely it can’t be!

A costly error in these hard times.

The free event – which was a great success – was held on July 21 at Solitude Park in Banbridge.

However, the council had to reprint its promotional material and according to the BBC, this came at a cost of about £1,200.
