Police in Tandragee are appealing for information following an incident on Madden Road on Tuesday, 11 June.
Around 7.30pm a 15 year old girl was walking along Madden Road, outside the football pitches at the Recreation Centre when a large, black car pulled up close to her. The male driver exited the vehicle, opened the passenger door and told the girl to get in. He grabbed her arm but the girl ran off and made her way home.
The male driver is described as being in his mid 30s with brown hair and dark stubble. He was wearing a dark blue shirt, dark blue jeans and white trainers.
Police are appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident or noticed the vehicle in the area around this time to contact them on 0845 600 8000.
Police are also asking parents to take this opportunity to speak to their children about stranger danger.
Constable O’Neill explained: “While there is no reason for parents to be alarmed, it is important that you speak to your child about keeping safe and not speaking to strangers. In this instance the child did the right thing and left the area the moment she became uncomfortable. We are conducting enquiries to ascertain the identity of the male.
“If you would like more advice on stranger danger and talking to your children please contact police in Tandragee on 0845 600 8000.”
