Police in Newry have arrested two men and a woman after a badly injured man was found in the Edward Street area of the city last night (Friday).
The injured man, who is in his 30s, was found by a passing police patrol. It was unclear how he had sustained his injuries but officers conducted an immediate search of the area.
Two men, aged 29, were arrested at a nearby flat and according to police had been attempting to clean evidence of blood from themselves.
A 33-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of assault on police and was charged at Newry Magistrates’ Court today (Saturday).
The two men arrested remain in custody.
The man found by police had been taken to hospital with injuries to his face, head and body.
