Window smashed in tea-time attack on Armagh drive-thru restaurant

Police are appealing for witnesses after a window was smashed at a fast food outlet in Armagh this evening (Monday).

The KFC drive-thru restaurant at Lonsdale Road was the target.

It is understood that an object was thrown at the premises before the culprit fled the scene.

It happened at around 5pm.

A number of children were on the premises at the time.

The area is usually quite busy with traffic and, with the nearby bus station also busy, police are hopeful that someone can help.

One eyewitness told Armagh I: “I thought it was a pellet gun as there was a small hole on the top right of the window. I was sat with my back to the window and my partner was facing it but don’t think it was a brick or stone. It took us all by shock.”

Anyone who witnessed the incident or may have seen the perpetrator is being urged to get in touch.

Contact the PSNI in Armagh on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference number 1035 21/12/15.
