Champion fundraiser Willie Nugent has been delighted to hand over another cheque after his own personal promise to clock up the pounds for each point chalked up by Armagh in the All-Ireland final.
The triumphant Orchard County brought the Sam Maguire back to Armagh for only the second time ever last month.
The celebrations have been in full swing ever since.
And also with reason to celebrate Armagh’s big win are two local cancer charities.
Oisin Conaty’s opening score soon had Willie reaching for his wallet. His man-of-the-match winning performance against the Tribesmen saw the former Portadown FC centre-forward add two more.
Aaron McKay’s stunning goal after ‘souper’-sub Stefan Campbell laid the groundwork saw another £30 popped in the kitty.
Two points from Ben Crealey, one apiece for the O’Neill brothes, Rian and Oisin, and further scores from Barry McCambridge, Tiernan Kelly, Niall Grimley and captain fantastic Aidan Forker, saw a super sum raised.
It’s no secret that Armagh has the best fans.
So when Willie went to fork out £140 for the collective point-scoring, he was able to throw in a little bit more. Quite a bit more, to be fair!
For well-wishers also dug deep to help swell the coffers.
In all, £240 has now been handed over to the Friends of the Cancer Centre Belfast City Hospital.
But not only that, Galway may have lost out by a single point on All-Ireland Sunday, yet charity in the County was a winner thanks to those added donations.
“With your support,” said Willie “I am now also able to donate €100 to Cancer Care Galway, for when cancer calls it doesn’t matter which team you support!”
We’re sure you’ll agree – a very fair result and one worth cheering about!
