A tractor was stolen from a locked farm yard in Collone on Friday evening.

The blue New Holland T6155, with a registration of VX62 EUE, was snatched from the property along the Killeen Road shortly after 8.20pm.

It is believed the tractor may have sustained some damage to the front as walls and gates were rammed in a crude bid to remove it from the yard.

Nearby CCTV footage shows a red quad bike, with the driver dressed in dark clothing and wearing a black helmet, fleeing the scene at speed at 8.23pm. The tractor follows behind slowly at 8.24pm.

The owners say they have reason to believe the tractor ran out of fuel shortly after this as the farmer had left the tank empty after baling.

CCTV footage again shows the tractor travelling along the Killycopple Road 25 minutes later, at a quicker speed, and it is believed that the quad bike was able to return and re-fuel the tractor during this time as the distance between Killeen and Killycopple Road would be 10 minutes, maximum, normally.
