Two people tied up in their Armagh home by masked men in shocking burglary

Incident happened shortly before midnight on Tuesday

Two people were tied up in their home as two men ransacked their home outside Armagh city last night (Tuesday).

The frightening ordeal took place at a house in the Battleford Road area at approximately 11.30pm.

Detectives are appealing for information following the aggravated burglary.

The occupants of the house were restrained by two armed male suspects and various items of property were stolen.

It is believed the two men left the scene in a car, driven by a third unknown person.

None of the occupants were injured during this incident, however they were left very badly shaken.

Detective Chief Inspector James Mullen would appeal to anyone who saw any vehicles or persons acting suspiciously in the area to contact Detectives at Lurgan on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference 55 12/07/17.

“Alternatively, if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
