Two arrested following suspected arson attack on Armagh city centre property

A police presence remained on site outside the property this morning (April 29)

Two people have been arrested following a report of an arson attack on a property in Armagh yesterday evening, Tuesday April 28.

Shortly before 10.30pm, police received a report of flat on fire in the Railway Street area of Armagh.

“The resident was inside the property at the time when the rear windows were smashed and the property set alight.

“Officers attended arrested a 33-year-old man and a 26-year-old woman on suspicion of a number of offences including arson with intent to endanger life and criminal damage.

Both remain in custody at this time.

A police presence remained on site outside the property this morning (April 29).
