Tributes have been paid to a young Armagh man who has been described as a “talented musician” and “a gentleman” following his sudden passing over the weekend.
Shane Paul Wright, from Drumsill Park in the city, passed away on Saturday.
He was the beloved son of Sharon and loving brother to Aaron and loving grandson of Eilish.
Shane’s remains will repose at his mum Sharon’s home, 8 Patrick’s Fold from 3pm today (Tuesday) until removal on Thursday at 10.15am to St Patrick’s Cathedral for 11am requiem mass with burial afterwards in St James’s Cemetery Mullabrack.
Mia McParland led the tributes to Shane who was a member of Corran Accordian Band.
“Corran Accordion Band are deeply shocked and saddened to hear of the passing of Shane Wright,” she wrote.
“Shane was a talented musician and a young gentleman whose life has been taken far too soon. His contributions to the Corran Accordian Band will be greatly missed.
“Shane always had a smile on his face and was a joy to be around. His friendly personality and positive attitude made him a pleasure to be with. The band won’t be the same without him and will be greatly missed by all.
“Shane will always be remembered through music and the memories he created with those who knew him. Our sincere condolences are sent to Sharon, Aaron and Eilish and all family and friends. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.”
Another woman wrote: “He loved his music and was always so happy to being going away with the band and to practice. Words can’t explain how much I’m going to miss you Shane.”
Others described him as a “lovely young man” and someone who “will be missed by all who knew you”.
Very deeply regretted his heartbroken mother, brother, granny, aunts Maria and Linda, Ciaran, Mickey and Emy, cousin’s, friends and the entire family circle.
