Three people left needing medical attention after Armagh city centre assault

Three people required medical treatment after an early morning incident in Armagh last weekend.

And police said enquiries are continuing in an effort to establish the circumstances.

An appeal has also gone out for witnesses to come forward.

Armagh I also understands that CCTV could be examined as part of the investigation.

A PSNI spokesperson confirmed that a report of the incident – which happened at Dobbin Road – was received at around 12.30am last Sunday morning.

Police were informed that two men and a woman had been assaulted, leaving all three requiring medical treatment.

An eyewitness told Armagh I that a male had tended to one person who had allegedly been left unconscious.

The area was busy at the time as many were beginning to make their way home after socialising in the city.

A PSNI spokesperson said officers want to hear from anyone who can help.

The spokesperson told Armagh I : “Enquiries are still ongoing to establish the exact circumstances of the incident and police are appealing for anyone with any information to contact officers in Armagh on 101 quoting reference number 38 05/03/17 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
