Armagh’s Omniplex is set to close on Sunday.
The owners of the cinema chain have confirmed that the final credits are set to roll on the city outlet.
They did so in an email to followers.
It read: “After many wonderful years of bringing stories to life on the big screen in Armagh, we wanted to share an important update with our customers and community.
“Omniplex Armagh will take its final bow on Sunday, 25th January.”
Recognising the support of locals after all those years, they added: “We’d like to say a heartfelt thank you to every member of our team, past and present, and to everyone who joined us for a movie, a popcorn, or a special night out over the years. It has been a privilege to be part of the Armagh community and to share so many unforgettable cinema moments together.
“While this chapter is coming to a close, the story continues. Our Omniplex cinemas in Dungannon and Craigavon will continue to operate as normal, and we’d love to welcome you there for the next reel of your big-screen experience with us.
“Thank you for being part of the Omniplex Armagh story.”
Confirmation of the closure came after earlier hints that the end was near.
Last October, Armagh I revealed that Omniplex Armagh would not be renewing the lease of their Market Street premises beyond February 2026.
Armagh Omniplex took over the cinema after Armagh City Film House pulled down the shutters, which was the first operator of the new-look venue when it opened in 1995.
