Teenager to appear in court after tractor stolen in Monaghan and ending up in Armagh

A teenager arrested after a tractor was stolen and involved in a series of hit and run collisions will appear in court this morning (Wednesday).

The 19-year-old has been charged with a number of offences, including dangerous driving and driving while unfit through drink or drugs.

He will appear before Newry Magistrates’ Court.

The other two males arrested, aged 18 and 16, have been released on police bail pending further enquiries.

Police detained the trio following a cross-border incident in the early hours of Tuesday.

A report was received from An Garda Síochána, just after 3.30am, that a tractor had been stolen from Monaghan.

Speaking on Tuesday, T/Sergeant McGuigan, said: “It’s believed the tractor was involved in several hit-and-run collisions, before ending up in Armagh.

“It’s here, on the Tivnacree Road, Derrynoose that officers detained three males.

“Our enquiries are continuing, and anyone with information is asked to contact us on 101 quoting reference number 150 of 14/12/21.”
