SVP offer direct, personal assistance that is non-judgemental and based on the need of the individual or family.
In addition we provide a wide range of services for vulnerable people through our local offices, shops, resource centres, housing, daycare and holiday schemes amongst other things.
Obviously no more than the rest of the country we are challenged by the current Covid-19 crisis. We will continue to support people to the best of our ability who request our help during this period.
Those seeking to contact the SVP are asked to use our telephone or online facilities as we will not be operating any drop-in facilities.
Contact details for our local conferences can be found at https://www.svp.ie/get-help.aspx or see below for local conference helpline numbers.
As we have a duty of care to our volunteers and members with underlying health issues or with immediate family with such issues, they have been advised to take extra precautions and not to attend meetings/visit clients.
Depending on the situation with local Conferences, home and emergency accommodation visitations may be curtailed but alternative arrangements will be made to provide support as much as possible.
We continue to support people in our Social Housing and Homeless Services, whilst information on our Resource centres services is available locally.
The Society of St Vincent de Paul has been closely monitoring the spread of the Covid -19 virus and has decided to close all 234 Vincent’s Charity shops with immediate effect until further notice.
The health and safety of our customers, donors, staff and volunteers has been of paramount importance throughout this developing situation, but we feel that the temporary closure of our shops is an appropriate and proportionate response at this time. We will keep the situation under constant review and resume our service as soon as possible.
We would like to thank all our customers, staff, volunteers and donors for all their support and understanding at this time.
SVP Church gate and supermarket collections etc. are cancelled for the foreseeable future.
The situation is evolving and will be reviewed on a daily basis.
