
A remarkable Road Bowls Weekend held in Armagh in March has raised a staggering £37,383.59 for the Southern Area Hospice.
The event was organised by Connie Daly & family, Tiev Tara Road Bowls Club, and Bol Chumann na hÉireann, in loving memory of Damian Daly.
Damian, a passionate road bowler and much-loved member of the community, sadly passed away at Southern Area Hospice in January 2025.
In a beautiful tribute to his memory, this special event, brought together friends, family, and the wider road bowls community to honour his legacy.
Thanks to their efforts, and the generosity of all who donated and participated, an incredible £37,383.59 was raised in support of Hospice services.
A Hospice spokesperson said: “This significant contribution will make a real and lasting difference to patients and families in our care.”
Damian’s wife, Connie, added: “I am deeply grateful to everyone who helped make the Road Bowls Weekend such a beautiful tribute to Damian’s memory. The support and generosity shown by our family, friends, the Tiev Tara Road Bowls Club, Bol Chumann na hÉireann, and the entire bowling community was truly overwhelming.
“Raising over £37,000 for the Southern Area Hospice is a testament to the impact Damian had on those around him, and I can’t thank everyone enough for helping to honour his legacy in such a meaningful way, I would like to give a special thank you Damian’s brother Conor and close friend Martin who really took the lead in the organising and made it possible.”
