Residents in Armagh are being urged to be vigilant following a spate of incidents in the coity in the early hours of this morning (Thursday).
City Councillor Sarah Duffy said residents in the Culdee, Castle Street and Irish Street areas should be extra vigilant after these areas were targeted.
The Sinn Féin elected representative said: “There have been several burglaries and attempted break-ins reported in the Culdee, Castle Street and Irish Street areas, targeting both homes and vehicles.
“One incident was reported at 4:45 a.m. this morning, with further suspicious activity noticed in the area shortly afterwards.
She added: “These thieves care nothing about the damage and fear they cause to their victims or local communities. I would urge all local residents to be extra vigilant and report to any suspicious activities to the police.”
Police told Armagh I that they received reports of a male tampering with vehicles at Culdee Drive, at around 5am, on Thursday, May 8.
It was reported that one car was broken into with a number of items taken and a second car had a window and a door damaged.
