Reports woman killed on farm in Armagh

Incident understood to have happened around 1.30pm

There are reports a woman has died at a farm in county Armagh this afternoon.

It is believed the female victim was involved in an incident with a cow in the Armagh area at around 1.30pm.

Air Ambulance were tasked to the scene.

A spokesperson for Air Ambulance NI told Armagh I: “We can confirm that the Air Ambulance was called to an incident at a farm in county Armagh today.

“We cannot provide any further details at this stage.”

A spokesperson for The Health and Safety Executive Northern Ireland (HSENI) told Armagh I: “HSENI are aware of this tragic incident, and are attending the incident scene.”

William Irwin MLA, who is closely connected to the farming community, has expressed his shock at this afternoon’s death, adding: “I am really saddened and shocked by this awful news and I want to express my sincerest condolences with her husband and family circle at this very difficult time.”

There are no further details at this stage.
