Redrock Girls Brigade are set to hold a special service to celebrate their 40th anniversary this April.
The highly popular company now has 67 members ranging in age from three to 18 with many girls attending from various primary and secondary schools across county Armagh.
Meeting weekly on Monday evenings Redrock Girls Brigade members enjoy a range of activities including crafts, cookery, exercise, marching, singing and are afforded the ability to engage in leadership training, faith retreats, conferences, and award programmes.
To mark their 40 year anniversary, the brigade will hold a special service at Redrock Presbyterian Church on April 6 at 3.30pm.
Speaking to Armagh I, Captain of Redrock Girls Brigade Mary Montgomery explained that the special anniversary service will be held by the company’s members.
Said Mary: “The service will be taken by the girls.
“There will be singing, prayers and a few will read from scripture and others will interview one out of each section to see what they get out of GB.
“We are also going to display old uniforms from across the years which we can borrow from the GB House in Antrim.
“We would like anyone who was involved in the past as a member, leader helper to feel free to come along.”
The hour long service will be open to the public with light refreshments to be served in the Church Hall afterwards.
