Armagh resident awakes to find man armed with knife on his stairs

Police in Armagh are appealing for information following two disturbing incidents which happened in Armagh earlier this month.

Around 2.45am on Sunday, 1 May, the occupant of a house in Drumman Heights was confronted by a male on the stairs of his house.

The male had a knife in his possession and made off from the house before getting into a dark, saloon type car and driving off.

He is described as being in his 20s, approximately 5ft 10in tall with stubble on his face, cropped, dark hair and was wearing a grey tracksuit and trainers.

A second male was seen outside the house and he made off on foot.

A short time later, around 3.20am, three males attempted to steal a red Nissan Micra car from Linsey’s Heights. The three made off in a navy coloured Rover 45 Spirit car.

The car was found burnt out in Belfast during the early hours of Monday, 2 May.

Police believe these incidents may be connected and are appealing to anyone who has information which may assist their investigation to contact them on 101, quoting ref: 227 010516.

If you prefer to provide information without giving your details you can contact the independent Crimestoppers charity anonymously on 0800 555 111.
