Police appeal after 16-year-old boy enters River Callan in Armagh

A 16-year-old boy is understood to have got into difficulty having entered a river in Armagh late last night (Saturday).

Emergency services were tasked to the Callan River on the Killylea Road.

It has prompted police in Armagh to make an appeal for information this morning (Sunday).

“[We] received a report a young male has entered the River Callan from the Killylea Road, Armagh on Saturday, June 27 at approximately 11pm.

“The male is described as around 16-years-old, wearing a grey tracksuit.

“Police and Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue have checked the area for any person in the water.

“If you have any information please contact Police on 101 and quote serial number 52 of 28/06/20.”
