Pedestrian knocked down in Armagh city centre rushed to hospital

A male has been transported to Craigavon Area Hospital following an incident in Armagh city centre earlier today (February 14).

It is understood that the person involved had been struck by a car in Armagh city centre shortly after 12noon.

Police and ambulance crews attended the scene.

A PSNI spokesperson said: “Police received a report of a collision involving two cars and a male pedestrian shortly before 12:30pm on Friday February 14.

“The pedestrian has been taken to hospital for treatment to injuries not believed to be life threatening.

“Enquiries are continuing and anyone who witnessed the collision or captured dash-cam footage is asked to contact police in Armagh on 101 quoting reference number 657 14/02/25.”

A spokesperson for The Northern Ireland Ambulance Service (NIAS) said: “The NIAS received a 999 call at 12:26 on Friday February 14, following reports of an RTC on Barrack Street, Armagh.

“NIAS despatched one Emergency Ambulance crew and two Rapid Response Paramedics to the incident.

Following initial assessment and treatment at scene, one patient was taken to Craigavon Area Hospital by ambulance.”
