Pedestrian knocked down in Armagh city centre

Emergency services are currently dealing with a road traffic collision in Armagh.

There are reports that a pedestrian has been struck by a car in the Barrack Street area of the city.

Ambulance crews and first responders are on the scene and tending to the injured person.

Traffic is moving slowly in the area and delays are expected.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area as the situation is dealt with.

A spokesperson for The Northern Ireland Ambulance Service said: “The Northern Ireland Ambulance Service received a 999 call at 12:26 on Friday February 14, following reports of an RTC on Barrack Street, Armagh.

NIAS despatched one Emergency Ambulance crew and two Rapid Response Paramedics to the incident.

Following initial assessment and treatment at scene, one patient was taken to Craigavon Area Hospital by ambulance.”
