Number of students taken to hospital following incident at SRC in Armagh

Emergency services are currently dealing with an incident at the Southern Regional College in Armagh this afternoon (Friday).

Police were called to the scene along the Lonsdale Road shortly before 1pm to reports of a number of pupils requiring medical attention.

A police spokesperson said their enquiries are “ongoing to establish the cause”.

According to one eye-witnesses, there were at least six ambulances and a number of police cars in attendance.

A spokesperson for the NI Ambulance Service said they received a 999 call at 12.50pm on Friday.

“NIAS despatched a number of crews to the incident. A number of patients were taken to Craigavon Area Hospital by Ambulance,” the spokesperson said.
