A new Poundstretcher store will open in the city this weekend, Armagh I can exclusively reveal.
The opening of the huge discount store will also bring with it 20 new jobs.
It will be a case of one giant retailer replacing another, as the new store is set to open its doors in The Spires retail park, Armagh, just off the Moy Road, where Poundworld vacated earlier this summer.
The company has invested up to £500,000 on a complete redesign of the premises in what they say has been “modelled to enhance the shopping experience for all our Armagh customers”.
The area manager, Frances Hanley, speaking to Armagh I, said: “We are so pleased to be opening this brand new store for the people of Armagh with loads of fantastic branded products, all at bargain prices.
“The team is working hard to deliver an outstanding shopping experience, great service, and an enjoyable shopping environment for all our new customers and with that we are expecting massive queues for our Opening Day
Only Specials, so come along early to catch the bargains.”
The store will be officially opened in a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 10am with the first five customers in line for the store opening to receive a double faux leather bed for £19.99.
Throughout the day the store will also have over £3,000 worth of giveaways with ‘Opening Day Only Specials’.
Furthermore, Poundstretcher will be celebrating the grand opening from 10am until 4pm with an action-packed Fun Day, with activities that the whole family can enjoy. Balloons and game shows with fantastic prize giveaways are all on offer.
A company spokesperson told Armagh I they are expecting to witness huge queues with previous openings seeing customers queuing from the early hours of the morning.
