New drive-thru to be built in Armagh as part of state-of-the-art business park

Armagh looks set to get to a new drive-thru, Armagh I can reveal.

The development would be constructed in the Ballycrummy area, on the edge of the city.

And the search is now on to secure a tenant for the proposed premises ahead of completion later this year.

It would be a single-storey development with a floorspace of around 650 sq ft.

The property would be capable of accommodating a new food or drink outlet and fully-fitted to a high specification.

The drive-thru would be constructed within the new Carrick Hill complex, with a prominent frontage and free on-site car parking.

Armagh drive-thru proposals

Conor Mallon, of Best Property Services, said there was a need for such a facility in the area.

He told Armagh I : “This is an excellent development in an area which is getting busier following the opening of the Carrick Hill business park, coupled with the increase in housing.

“Proposals are going through the planning process but we are happy to speak with prospective tenants ahead of, what we expect, will be approval for the drive-thru.”

Ballycrummy, which connects the Battleford/Cathedral Road and Killylea Road, is a growing area in terms of housing and facilities.

Neighbours include Northern Building Supplies, Armagh Hire Centre, Hamilton Road Freight and C&B Trucks, while Pearse Og GFC is located close by, with the club also anticipating further developments to its own facilities.

The Carrick Hill business park consists of a total of six units which became available to let this year, with planning approval having been granted by ABC Council last autumn.

It has been built on land at Campbell Trade Sales on the Ballycrummy Road, immediately opposite 1 – 5 Crewroe Grange.

The six new-build business units units vary in sizes from around 2,500 sq ft to 15,000 sq ft and the drive-thru is the latest addition to this state-of-the-art complex.

“The proposed single storey drive-thru premises will be constructed and finished to the highest standard and fully fitted, ready for the tenants fit-out,” according to a spokesperson.

“The premises will benefit from floor to ceiling height glazed frontages, to benefit from as much natural lighting as possible. The unit will also benefit from a canopy to the front and side elevations.”

It is expected that there will be plenty of interest given the easily accessible location and growing population and activity in the vicinity.

It is also hoped, therefore, that a tenant will be secured and in place as soon as possible, allowing for a swift opening when built.
