Mum’s heart ‘shattered into a million pieces’ following sudden passing of Armagh father-of-three

Matthew Beatty from Armagh

A mum to a young Armagh father-of-three who died suddenly over the weekend says her heart is “shattered into a million pieces.”

Matthew Beatty, who was just 27 years old, died suddenly on Sunday.

A funeral notice describes him as the dearly loved partner of Klaudia, and much-loved daddy of Violet, Phoenix, and Sebastian.

He is also the cherished son of Gail Beatty and Andre Quinn, as well as the loving brother of Samantha, James, Holly, and Jonathan.

His mum, Gail, wrote of his passing: “My heart is shattered into a million pieces. Losing my son at only 27 years old should not happen like this. It’s only 11 days since I had to say goodbye to my mum. RIP my baby boy. Mum loved you so, so much.”

His aunt wrote: “There comes a part in your life when you tell yourself, ‘I’ve had enough heartache for one week,’ but this morning I get another phone call that you don’t want to have… My nephew passed away this morning – Matthew Beatty; a young man who had his whole life ahead of him.”

She added: “It’s just heartbreaking that three young children are now without their dad. But Matthew, you are at peace now and are with your granny and granda, and I am sure they were there waiting for you with open, loving arms.”

One woman posted: “You deserved so much more, and I hope you knew how many people loved you. You had such a kind heart and so much love to give to everyone you met.”

Matthew’s funeral service will take place in St Mark’s Parish Church, Armagh, on Wednesday, March 19, at 12 noon, followed by interment at Ballynahone Cemetery.

Family and friends are welcome at Cheevers Funeral Home, Hamiltonsbawn Road, Armagh, BT60 1HW, on Tuesday, March 18, between 7 – 9pm.

Family flowers only, please. Donations in lieu, if desired, for Addiction NI, c/o K G Cheevers and Son, Funeral Directors, 28 Dobbin Street, Armagh, BT61 7QQ.

Lovingly remembered by his sorrowing family and the entire family circle.
