The children of Mount St. Catherine’s Primary School in Armagh gave a very warm welcome to TV personality Adrian Logan and his colleague Leah Gordon last Friday.
The pair were visiting the school to hand over a generous cheque donation of £500 for the school’s Easter Cash Call.
The cheque was very generously donated by McKinney Competitions, a local company who run competitions for high value prizes including luxury houses and cars.
It’s common knowledge how cash strapped all schools are; there’s a real problem now even financing the basics.
Mt. St. Catherine’s are aiming high and plan to raise £5,000 by March 27 in order to buy reading books and six new iPads, as well as subsidising buses for school trips for sports, music and curriculum enhancement events.
The pupils were eager to join in the fund-raising effort and those who manage to fill a full sheet of entries will receive a football or a Mackles ice cream voucher and there’s a special gift for the best seller overall.
To contribute to this excellent fund raiser, just check out Mt. St. Catherine’s Facebook page for details.
Tickets are being sold through JustGiving on the Facebook page. You can leave your number on the page or ring it in to school (02837522241). Your number is needed to make that call!
You’ll need to set your alarm for 11am on the day of the draw because if you’ve been lucky and don’t answer the phone, the draw moves on to the next person!
Finally, the whole school community would like to thank Adrian Logan, Leah Gordon, McKinney’s competitions and Cora Scallon for all their help and encouragement.
