Man to appear in court following armed robbery at Armagh bingo hall

A man who allegedly armed himself with a pair of scissors and robbed an Armagh bingo hall is to appear in court.

The 50-year-old man is due to appear at Armagh Magistrates’ Court next month charged with robbery.

He was arrested following the incident at Boyle’s Bingo at the Dobbin Street area of city yesterday (Sunday).

Shortly after 3pm, it was reported that a man armed with a pair of scissors entered a Bingo Hall and pushed a female staff member to the ground.

The man made off with a sum of money, but was arrested a short time later.

The female member of staff was not injured during the incident but was badly shook up by the ordeal. The pair of scissors were recovered at the scene.
