A man is to appear in court on Monday morning charged with attempted murder.
The 43-year-old is charged with attempted murder and possession of an offensive weapon with intent to commit an indictable offence following an incident in Dungannon on Saturday, November 1.
The accused was arrested in Armagh following the incident which left a woman with a significant leg injury.
He is expected to appear before Enniskillen Magistrates’ Court on Monday, November 3.
As is usual procedure, all charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.
Speaking on Saturday, Chief Inspector Graham Dodds said officers were called to a property in the Altmore Drive area at around 11.30am on November 1, after reports that a woman had been seriously hurt inside the home.
“Officers attended and administered first aid until colleagues from other emergency services arrived,” he said.
“A woman, aged in her 40s, was taken to hospital for treatment.”
Chief Inspector Dodds added: “Our investigation is ongoing, and I would appeal to anyone who has any information to contact police on 101, quoting reference 723 of 1/11/25.”
