Man stabbed in neck and hands during terrifying Armagh burglary

A man was stabbed in the neck during an aggravated burglary in Armagh last night (Wednesday).

The incident happened in the Aghanore Walk area of the city shortly before 9pm.

Detectives investigating the burglary say they have arrested a man.

Detective Sergeant McCarragher said: “At around 8.55pm, it was reported that a man armed with a knife forced his way into a house in the Aghanore Walk area.

“It was reported that a 46-year-old man who was inside the property received stab wounds during the incident. The man received injuries to his neck and hands.

“A man in his 40s was arrested on suspicion of related offences and is currently in custody at this time.

“Enquiries are continuing and we are appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident, to contact detectives on 101 quoting reference number 2096 15/02/23.”
