A man was arrested following a serious assault on a woman in Armagh this morning (Monday).
Police in Armagh arrested a 49-year-old man in the Banbrook Hill area of the city after the report of a woman being assaulted.
A report was received by police at around 6.50 am this morning that a woman had been punched a number of times in the face by a male.
It is understood the woman was taken to hospital as a result of her injuries. Her condition is unknown at this stage.
A PSNI spokesperson told Armagh I : “The man was arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and possessing a Class A controlled drug.
“He remains in police custody at this time.”
